With the approval of the Oak Island Town Council on August 13, 2019, the Beach Preservation Society has become a free-standing nonprofit corporation: Oak Island Beach Preservation Society, Inc. This change followed lengthy study and deliberation by the BPS Advisory Board as well as conversations with Town staff and some of the original founders of the Society.
