New Shower Tower in 2024

Part of our mission is to “enhance the beach experience.” We do this by the addition (and upkeep) of convenience items along the beachfront, such as bike racks and doggie boxes. We also try to provide a larger item to the town when we are able. This year, we provided funds for an additional shower tower, which the town has placed at the 30th West Beach access. We are hoping to provide another tower next year as well. So, THANK YOU to all those who support our mission, and make it possible for us to help make our beach more enjoyable for all!

Mobility Mat Rollout

On October 3, 2019, the Oak Island Beach Preservation Society, Inc. rolled out the Mobility Mat we contributed to the Town. Donations and memberships in our nonprofit organization made this possible, as we work toward a better beach experience for ALL. Thanks, Public Works staff for siting, rolling and maintaining the mat in years to come!
