Giving Tuesday is November 29th

Created in 2012 as a simple idea, GivingTuesday was a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, this idea has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

This year, the Oak Island Beach Perseveration Society is encouraging our friends and neighbors to donate to our annual scholarship fund. Our scholarship program donates $2,000 to three Brunswick County college bound high school students who are following their passion for the science, the environment and helping improve our natural surroundings.

This year, we were proud to provide scholarships to these outstanding Brunswick County Students:

• BPS President Cheryl Cook presents a check to Jadan Richardson from the Brunswick County Early College High School.

• Kayla Brennan, North Brunswick High School enrolling in BCC with an eye toward NC State.

• Dulce Dominguez from Brunswick County Early College High School used her scholarship at Appalachian State University.
